Hillary Clinton leaves flowers for Our Lady of Guadalupe, asks ..

Maybe Hillary Clinton should have picked up a guidebook prior to her trip to Mexico. Last week the secretary of state visited the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It is the second most popular Catholic shrine in the world. Catholics believe the image of the Virgin Mary was miraculously imprinted on a peasant's cloak 500 years ago. The site has been visited by two Popes, and millions of admirers.
The treasured Icon was lowered from it’s usual space to allow the Secretary a closer view. Ms. Clinton laid a bouquet of white flowers at the base and studied the treasure for several moments in quiet reflection.
Upon leaving the shrine, Secretary Clinton turned to the Monsignor and said:
“That’s very beautiful ‘Padre’, who painted it”?
The Monsignor looked at her askance, paused a beat and said, “GOD“!
“Oh, it must be very old.”

And as she left the church, Clinton told some waiting outside,
"You have a marvelous virgin!"

Clinton says US shares responsibility for Mexico's drug violence

The "insatiable" American demand for illegal drugs is part of the problem, she says, and hints at changes ahead in US drug-control policies.
By Warren P. Strobel | McClatchy Newspapers
from the March 27, 2009 edition

MEXICO CITY - The United States is at least as responsible as Mexico for the violent drug wars that are roiling its southern neighbor because of an insatiable US market for narcotics, the failure to stop weapons smuggling southward and a three-decade "war" on drugs that "has not worked," Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Wednesday.
"Our insatiable demand for illegal drugs fuels the drug trade. Our inability to prevent weapons from being illegally smuggled across the border to arm these criminals causes the deaths of police officers, soldiers and civilians," Mrs. Clinton said.

America’s firsts:

A narcissist in the White House.

A mentally challenged woman as Speaker of the House.

A diplomatically deficient woman as Secretary of State.

Dear Ms. Clinton,

When you say: "Our insatiable demand for illegal drugs fuels the drug trade.” -- Are you using the Royal ‘Our’ as in ‘We’? Are you equating the criminal element in our society with the American People?
Somehow, the Mexican Government’s fight against the Cartels is a noble thing, but when it comes to the problem on our side we are all painted with the same brush? AMERICA IS THE PROBLEM? Do me a favor Hillary, DON’T TAKE IT ON YOURSELF TO APOLOGIZE FOR ME!

If you want to apologize for something try saying the following:

I APOLOGIZE for Whitewater.
I APOLOGIZE for Karen McDougal going to jail.
I APOLOGIZE for recruiting Monica to keep Bill under control.
I APOLOGIZE for Vince Foster’s death.
I APOLOGIZE for saying “We landed in a hail of gunfire in Kosovo”.
I APOLOGIZE for pissing off the Chinese, Russians and N. Korea.
I APOLOGIZE for sticking my foot in my mouth in Mexico.

Can you believe these people came to power in our country?

A JOB DESCRIPTION AND TWO MODELS…..

Job Description: Closing Agent. Must be professional, well groomed, articulate, with at least two years formal education in real estate closings and real estate law. Paralegal experience preferred…..

Jill is a professional independent closing agent. Each day at the end of her appointments, she stops by the office and picks up her files for the next day. She calls her clients, makes appointments to meet at their home or office and plans out her day.
After going over each file line by line and comparing all contracts with the loan papers, she double checks for correct name spelling, addresses and terms of loan. She then plots out her next day’s appointments on Google maps and insures she has driving directions so that she is not wasting time sitting in traffic. At $150.00 per closing she strives to do 6 - 8 closings a day. She earns a year end bonus for such items as correctness, promptness, customer service and absence of reworks in her case files. She routinely earns $250,000 per year and can count on a bonus of 5% which is another $12,500 coming in at Christmas time. She would like to make a larger income and she is contemplating hiring an assistant to handle some of the details and scheduling so that she can possible move her closings into the 10 - 12 range per day. Above all she must maintain her customer service and accuracy . It is a grueling job and pace, but with the help of a $75,000 dollar assistant, she feels it is a workable plan and she will be able to make her business more productive and cut back on her 18 hour days........

Joe, Nancy and Barney are career civil service people who have transferred to the new ‘Department of Loan Closings‘, instigated by HUD under the direction of the Administration. They all came over from Department of Children & Families where they processed food stamp applications, and have no customer service experience and no experience in dealing with consumer loans. However! They are career bureaucrats and must be allowed to make lateral moves to new Departments if their jobs are in danger.
All three shuffle into work 10 minutes late with coffee and donuts and stand eyeballing the teaming masses waiting in the outer office with little red numbers in their hands. After arriving at their desks, they check email, go through correspondence and idly flip through the newspaper for the latest on lottery numbers, clothing sales and the racing form. Finishing up his coffee, Joe goes out to the waiting area and calls for Number 1. A harried woman brings her stack of material to the front desk and Joe waives her back to his desk.
“Yeah, what can I do for ya?”
“Well, I am here for a loan closing!”
“Ok, fill out this form and let me look at your paperwork.”
Joe, takes the stack of agonizingly prepared material, shuffles through it and asks stupid questions about the terms, appraisal and other items that he should be up to speed on.
“OK, I see hear that you are putting down $25,000 in cash. Have you filled out the IRS form and declared where this money came from?”
“It came from the closing on our last house.” Says the lady.
“Have you got the previous closing with you.”
“Well no, that’s over and done with.”
“Lady, we have to know where that money came from, Ya Know?”
“Here take this form to IRS and come back when it’s completed.”
“But, I had to take a day off work to come here!”
“whadya want from me lady, I don‘t make the rules!”
“When you finish with IRS and have what you need, come back and take a number…….. (Jeez, what’s this rich old broad want? I should work through my break?)

Think about what it’s like going to Social Security, the Driver’s License Office, Building Codes, any Permitting Office,…. And ask yourself if you want more government intervention in the private sector?

Steelers to loose Super Bowl Trophies

Pittsburgh, PA. The Super Bowl XLIII Champion Pittsburgh Steelers, the only team to win six titles, will soon be loosing half of those trophies. After a meeting between NFL Commissioner Rodger Gadel and President Barack Hussain Obama, Obama decided to redistribute half of their Steeler Super Bowl victories and trophies to less fortunate teams in the league.
“We live everyday in the country that invented the Super Bowl.” said Obama “We are not about to lose this Great American tradition in the wake of these difficult times.” Obama’s plan calls for the Steelers, who are a successful NFL team, to give half of their Super Bowl trophies to teams that are not successful or have not been as successful as the Steelers. “The Detroit Loins are just as much a part of the same fiber of the NFL as the Steelers and they should, no rather will, be entitled to a Super Bowl Trophy as well.” Obama explains in his plan that he has imposed on Godel and the NFL.
The Pittsburgh Steelers, who by virtue of hard work, excellent team play, stellar draft choices, responsible investing of free agents, careful hiring of coaches and excellent community service and commitment to their fans, has prospered greatly during the past 30 years and have won six Super Bowl Trophies. But President Barack Hussain Obama’s plan calls for the Pittsburgh Steelers to carry the larger burden of the NFL’s less successful teams. Obama went on to further proclaim, “In these difficult times we are all in this to work together. We must reclaim the NFL Championship Dream for every team, for every city and for every fan.”
“My plan will not affect 31 of the 32 teams in the league.” Obama assures. That’s over 95 percent of the teams in the NFL will not have to worry about loosing any Super Bowl Trophies. “The worst teams in the NFL and the teams that can’t seem to get a break and win a championship will no longer have to worry about going without a title.” Obama promises. “We are a country and league of hope. We all need to make a change. It does not matter the color of the teams uniforms, the personal decisions that the teams make or their performance but rather if they are a member of this great American league.”
The Super Bowl XLIII trophy will be redistributed to the 0-16 Detroit Lions. Through no fault of their own incompetence, the Lions could not manage a victory all season and this trophy will help ease the pain of their lack of performance and give them hope once again. The redistribution of Super Bowl XL trophy will go directly to the Steeler’s division rival the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals who also have fallen on hard times have never won a Super Bowl. This victory will bring a smile to hundreds of Bengal fans all over the world as they can now celebrate. Finally, one of the Steeler’s two Super Bowl victories over the Dallas Cowboys will go back to the Cowboys since the league needs to provide hope in the face of difficulty and provide hope in the face of uncertainty. This is a heavy burden for the Steelers but together we can all prosper.
All hope is not lost for Pittsburgh fans, Barack Hussain Obama has another plan in place. Obama has meet with MLB and commissioner Bud Selig on a similar plan. The New York Yankees will redistribute two of their world series trophies to the Pittsburgh Pirates as a supplement to their loosing 16 straight seasons and counting. This plan will help stimulate the Pirates and enable them to regain the American Dream. Barack Hussain Obama will be meeting with the NHL and Michael Phelps in the upcoming weeks as this issue is high on his agenda for “Hope and Change.”

News from Iraq…..

Have you heard any lately? I had to do a little digging, but here are the headlines that we are not seeing. Is it possible that this administration and the news media are not printing the good news?
Of course the war is not over, and will probably get worse when we start pulling out, but for now things are looking pretty good for the people of Iraq. I hate to think what will happen when we abandon the idea of success and political/economic freedom and embrace yet another bail-out.

Light shed on AIG as a political cash cow

Outrage over bonuses puts focus on senators
By Jerry Zremski NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU CHIEF

WASHINGTON - WASHINGTON — Congressional Democrats vowed Tuesday to strip away the $165 million in bonuses that American International Group paid to its executives with taxpayer bailout money. In doing so, they threatened to bite one of the many hands that feed the Washington campaign money machine.
“One way or another, we’re going to try to figure out how to get these [bonus] resources back,” said Sen. Christopher J. Dodd, D-Conn., chairman of the Senate Banking Committee.
Dodd has accepted $280,238 in campaign cash from AIG’s political committee and employees in the last 20 years.
Sen. Charles E. Schumer, D-N. Y., said: “If they don’t give the money back, we will put in place a new law that will allow us to tax these bonuses at a very high rate so that it is returned to its rightful owners — the taxpayers.”
Schumer has accepted $111,875 from AIG donors over two decades.
“They’re not going to get the financial benefit of those bonuses,” said Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont.
Baucus collected $90,000 from those connected to the insurance giant that has received more than $170 billion in federal bailout funds.

This is nothing more than a Joe Kleco head fake before he cuts you off at the knees. If you can keep a man’s head snapping left and right, he might miss you coming straight at him.
For awhile, I thought that the Obama/Geithner team were inept Bozo’s who did not understand anything about the economy. (but how could anyone with their credentials and international educations be dummies?) The secret lies in their goal and purpose, which can only be to lead us into Socialism. Seem harsh? Lenin said: ‘the way to beat Capitalism is to destroy it’s currency‘.
How would you do that? Maybe by pulling taxpayer dollars out of the economy and investing in banking firms that are owned and financed by foreign countries? How about deficit spending that can only be paid for by higher taxes and inflation? How about government sponsored projects that require contractors to pay union wages to the aliens who will be manning the shovels? How about taking yet more money from taxpaying citizens and redistributing to those who have no tax liability? How about coming up with failed plans to “close the housing gap” AKA Freddie & Fannie, with AIG writing the mortgage insurance?
… and I thought they were stupid. They must think we are.

Congress May Need to Fund Another Stimulus, Pelosi Says

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said yesterday that the federal government may have to spend even more money to shore up the nation's ailing economy, on top of the more than $1.6 trillion so far approved by Congress.

Judicial Watch Unveils Pelosi's Military Transport Requests
March 10, 2009
Suzanne Heibel--HispanicBusiness.com

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi may have crossed a no-fly zone with taxpayers. Judicial Watch, a conservative government watchdog group, has obtained documents from the Department of Defense that itemize her many requests to use Air Force aircraft for travel as well as the use of additional planes as military escorts. More so, Pelosi often canceled her military travel arrangements just minutes before her flight was scheduled to depart. A DOD official referred to this routine practice as "hidden late fees," due to the large staff needed to prep the plane, prepare meals, and more, that still was paid despite the Speaker's lack of attendance.
Among documents collected by Judicial Watch were emails between the Air Force and Kay King, Director of the House Office of Inter-parliamentary Affairs. In one conversation, King expresses Pelosi's extreme disappointment in the military for failing to provide her with the aircraft she had asked to use. “It is my understanding there are no G5s available for the House during the Memorial Day recess. This is totally unacceptable." "We will have ... a very upset Speaker." A G5 is a small aircraft that, despite being a military vessel, is basically a luxury private jet.

Maybe if Speaker Pelosi could clean up her own department finances and stop wasting taxpayer money on no shows and requests for G5’s , we would not need the additional money for yet another ‘Stimulus Plan.” Yes, Ms. Pelosi, we understand that Rush has his own G5, the difference being that the taxpayers don’t pay for his. Have you ever heard of FlexJet? It’s like your own limo service. I am sure it is much cheaper than military transport.

Mortgage Primer 101

President Obama has just released his latest plan to keep people in their homes. I have a flash for his cast at Treasury.
PEOPLE WANT TO SELL THEIR HOMES! We went down this road of 0% down 125% financing thanks to Bill Clinton, Chris Dodd and Barney Frank. We had to close the housing gap! There were people out there who could not afford to buy a house! Of course more affluent people used the plan to buy a $730,000 dollar home when they could only afford maybe a modest little $600,000 dollar home.
The point is that three or four years down the road, they still have no equity and are still upside down on the mortgage. They are upside down because they took that extra 25% and paid off credit card debt or other personal debt or maybe added a pool to their new digs that they couldn’t afford in the first place.
Now, in order to sell, they have to find someone willing to take on that extra mortgage amount. Even if we were in the housing market of the last decade, the homes value would not have appreciated enough to make up that 25%. We do not need a plan to re-write these mortgages and “keep people in their homes”. We need a plan to bring liquidity and mobility back in the market. That will only happen if we return to the basic premise that equity builds value. Let’s get the intellectuals and social engineers out of business.

Geithner's choice for deputy secretary withdraws

International Herald Tribune - ?12 hours ago? AP WASHINGTON: Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner's top pick to be his deputy has withdrawn from consideration. Annette Nazareth, a former senior staffer and commissioner with the Securities and Exchange Commission, withdrew after several interviews ...

At the SEC, Nazareth was a driving force in urging a merger of the NASD, an industry-funded regulator of U.S. brokerages, with most of the New York Stock Exchange’s regulatory arm. The SEC approved the consolidation, which formed the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, in July 2007. That group has come under fire on Capitol Hill for not spotting the $50 billion Ponzi scheme allegedly masterminded by Bernard Madoff.

Before becoming a commissioner in 2005, Nazareth was the staff member in charge of overseeing brokerage firms, market surveillance and stock exchanges. She led the division in 2004 when it designed a program to monitor whether Wall Street’s biggest securities firms had adequate capital and liquidity.
SEC Inspector General David Kotz faulted the program in a September report, saying the SEC failed to respond to “numerous, potential red flags” at Bear Stearns Cos., which collapsed a year ago. Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. went bust in September.

Prior to joining the Commission staff, Ms. Nazareth held several positions in the financial services industry. As a Managing Director of Smith Barney from 1997 to 1998, she was deputy head of the capital markets legal group. As a Senior Vice President and Senior Counsel of Lehman Brothers, Ms. Nazareth was the chief legal advisor to the fixed income division from 1994 to 1997. From 1986 to 1994, she served as Managing Director and General Counsel of Mabon Securities Corp. and its predecessor business, Mabon, Nugent & Co.
Some might remember that Mabon, Nugent & Company invested 40 million dollars in the failing Global Motors that had brought us the famed Yugo.

Remember that catchy phrase?

Yugo, I go, we all go!

ANOTHER BAILOUT FOR CITIGROUP??

Saudi Prince Is Humbled by Citigroup

Abu Dhabi, has invested around the world, buying a 75% stake in New York's iconic Chrysler Building last summer when oil prices were at their peak and helping to bail out the financial giant Citigroup with $7.5 billion at the end of 2007.

For Prince Walid, the developments at Citigroup are a stinging embarrassment. In November, he made a public splash by increasing his Citigroup stake, thus becoming its largest shareholder when the government carried out its second financial rescue.

But Prince Walid and several other investors from the Middle East and Asia, including the Abu Dhabi investment fund, are now suffering the public embarrassment of seeing their investments in Citigroup evaporate. With their ties to the royal families of their respective countries — Prince Walid is the grandson of Saudi Arabia’s founding king, Abdul-Aziz Ibn Saud, and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority invests the surplus cash of Abu Dhabi’s kingdom — these two investors are among the world’s most influential.

Citigroup is close to a pact to boost the U.S. Government's stake in the failing bank to as much as 40%; Vikram Pandit's job, however, should be safe. [WSJ, NYP]

Well thank goodness Mr. Pandit’s job is safe! But, who are we bailing out here? Citigroup or Abu Dhabi?
